Good heat tolerance. Never bitter

I have grown Suyo for years. It has good tolerance to mildew, but does need preventive fungicide if it rains every day for weeks. The cucumber is ridged and spiny but I peel my cucumbers so it is not a problem. The vines are very productive and parthenocarpic. It has a small seed cavity and not bitter. I can grow this year round in zone 12a, but it is best in summer as it tolerates more heat than other types of cucumber. My summer temperatures rarely exceed 91 degrees, but I grow them where they can get protection from the afternoon sun in summer. I start them in compots and transplant 4-6 plants to a 7 foot cage trellis.

Can't get this one to grow

I'm usually successful at growing vegetables. I'm in Zone 8b so aside from pretty intense heat in the summertime I get good growing weather most of the year. But I've tried Suyo Cucumber three times now and each time the plants simply died on me while other cukes I had planted thrived. I have no idea what I did wrong with them but I simply can't get them to grow and develop fruits.
