This drought tolerant heirloom barley variety originated in Ethiopia.
Once cleaned they are ready to cook and/or save seeds for planting next year! Can be used as a green manure crop.
Most wheats only obtain 12-13% protein but Jet Barley produces a Protein level of 16%.
Spring planted, hulless, 2 rowed barley. Because it is hulless, this makes it an excellent crop to be used directly in soups and stews or ground into flour.
