Very productive pickling type. Bright green fruits reach to 8 inches, but may be harvested much smaller. Very early.  Originally introduced in 1924 by Joseph Harris Seed Company, who wrote: “The remarkable thing about this new cucumber is its wonderful productiveness. For every pickle that is cut off, two or three more are produced.”

Death Defying Cucumber!

This cheeky plant was seeded in FULL Georgia sun at the beginning of July when temps are 100° plus, with multiple days around 108°. This is a very bad idea and should not be attempted by the mentally secured.
Fortunately my sanity left years ago and I said, what the heck, I'm rich in seed, let's do a science experiment! It did not disappoint! this cucamonster is THRIVING at 3 weeks old and is putting on fruit!
10/10 would recommend!

🎶ain't no amount of rays, of sun, are gonna hurt me🎶

Good pickling cucumber

I grew the Double Yield cucumber this year along with the Boston Pickling Cucumber and the Bush Crop cucumber. The Double Yield and the Boston Pickling cucumbers were very close in the amount of cucumbers they produced as well as the quality of the cucumber. This is a good pickling cucumber for anyone wanting to can pickles, and also great for eating on a salad or any other way one might enjoy them.

We loved these!

What an abundance of juicy, delicious cucumbers. We had salads every day. I'm definitely growing these again next year.
