The first few sunflowers that started to open were this gorgeous orange color and I started to think that maybe my seeds cross-pollinated or something.......They didn't! It's a miracle flower - the first flowerhead is orangey and then the next flowers to bloom are Red (hence the name). See the picture that I attached - you will see orange and red flowers on the same stalk! Truly a miracle.
