With so many wonderful herbs to learn about, I’m having trouble limiting myself to a manageable amount! Yarrow is my current favorite. I use it for everything; I drink it with other herbs in tisane and put it on any kind of skin ailments. Most recently I had inflammation from a hangnail on my toe, and a little yarrow poultice made it better right away.
Rochelle on
Cosmos! The bees really loved them.
Amanda on
Milkweed is my favorite plant for pollinators. One year I was happy to find it muched down by several Monarch caterpillars. I also love echinacea/purple coneflowers, which seem to be a magnet for butterflies and bumblebees. Red Salvia is another, but mostly for how it attracts hummingbirds.
Joanne Keith on

I love lavender everything and growing it for pollinators has been fun. I’ve got a special appreciation for our native herbs like horsemint/bergamot which the bees love. Our rent house has terrible soil with a sandbur problem, so we decided on planting durana clover in the back yard. I wish we’d done the front too because it’s made such a difference and all critters love it! It’s tolerant of our kids and dogs rough foot traffic and we’ve noticed way less burs already.
Marie Sandy on
Herbs yeah!
