If you want your basil plants to keep producing and last longer, it is important to trim off all of the flowers. Dark Purple Opal Basil is a favorite of mine.
Instead of tossing the flowers in the compost bin, I use them to make Purple Basil iced tea. It's delicious and refreshing!
