Green lentil are one of the earliest domesticated crops ever and it's still growing strong!

Green lentil is cultivated for its firm roots known to help minimize garden erosion, improve soil tilth and structure, while bolstering weed suppression.

Lentils are a hardy annual; they are a member of the pea family. Lentils grow on sparsely branched vines from 18 to 24 inches tall. The lentil has small whitish to light purple pea-like flowers. Pods are small, broad, flat and contain one or two flat, a lens-shaped seed that is green or yellow to orange, red or brown.

Planting Instructions:

Seeds can be sown 2 weeks before your last frost date, covered very lightly (depth of ½ inch) and kept reasonably moist until seedlings emerge. 

Grow in full sun.  Thin Seedlings 6-12 inches apart.

Trellis for support.  Do not over water.
