The oval fruit typically weighs between 6 lbs. and 8 lbs. Because of its vining growth habit, melon plants should be trellised to promote vertical growth, improve airflow, and keep the fruit off the ground.

Branco do Ribatejo melons are very sweet tasting and are delicious when sliced or cut up into chunks and eaten fresh.
