The Beaver Dam Pepper is an Heirloom brought to Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, in 1912 by the Joe Hussli family. Fruits are mildly hot when seeded.
Beautiful bright red large hot peppers that start out light green and have mild to medium heat. 6-7 inches long, 2-3 inches at the top and tapered. Very sweet when used red, in addition to being hot, and mild enough that you can use a good bit without overpowering the dish.
500 and 1,000 SHU so it's a mild pepper.
