I did not see any bees here at all last year in spite of over ten Rose of Sharon and a nearby butterfly bush. We have lots of honeysuckle as well. I did see lots of Japanese beetles on the magnolia blossoms as usual!

I love the borage that escaped the garden and went feral. The mint plants are rather grumpily contained by the patio, but that means I get to watch bees while I have my coffee. The bee balm not only feeds bees, but the finches devour the seed heads all winter long.

There is horehound growing WILD on my property (very invasive so I am trying to contain it) and the bees LOVE it! Our local beekeeper is grateful that I am not going to kill it all, as many folks here do, because the bees that he has in this area are the most prolific and make the best honey and he believes it is because of the horehound.
