Buckwheat is traditionally seeded, grown, and harvested very similarly to wheat, despite being a broadleaf cultivar entirely unrelated to wheat and grass. Organic heirloom buckwheat seeds mature at 24-36" tall for summer tilling, being popularly mulched back into the garden at the end of the season, or left to bloom delicate white blossoms.
