Purple basil

This is so beautiful in flower pots and gardens, and good to use in the kitchen too. Love it!

I’m in Florida (10b) and Genovese basil has never worked out for me, but who needs it when I can grow this purple opal instead? Super hardy and pest resistant in our subtropical climate. When my first crop started dragging a little in the dog days of summer, I just brought it in the shade and propagated new plants out of the healthiest branches, and now I have another thriving set of basil plants. Perfect for a kitchen garden - delicious + looks so elegant and eye catching served with tomato and mozzarella! Can’t say enough good things.
