A delicious heirloom variety with smooth, creamy colored heavy roots.

Monarch has been awarded the Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit (AGM). Also known as turnip-rooted, knob celery or German celery. Easier to grow than its cousin celery. 

The plant produces large, firm, smooth roots, with white creamy flesh that remains white after blanching. Eaten fresh, it is crisp and smooth textured

Seeds may be started indoors 8 weeks before the last frost. Thrives in mild climates.
